As elite manufacturers with exceptional capabilities for installation, maintenance, diagnostic and repair of precision machines, UBC millers are important partners in sectors as diverse as energy, automotive, aerospace, food processing, pharmacy and more. We are everywhere and we work behind the scenes to operate the equipment that keeps the industry moving. I am currently unionized as an apprentice miller in southern Ontario. Is it really worth unionizing? Where I am now is a regular bi-biennial coming for the most part. No benefits, rrsp, or over time. I have heard that it would be hated to enter the Union and be on a waiting list for 4 months. Any ideas on this one? I will soon get in touch with my local room. I hope everything goes well! Thanks to you, you can ensure a high level of production by supplying your yard with professional mill workers with the skills and experience to complete the job safely, quickly and correctly. If you can join the Union, you will not regret it. Millwrights Ontario solves problems. I`m 30 years old, but I`m not sure I need to go to school before becoming an apprentice, you can`t have more than 44 hours a week, or you don`t get paid overtime after 44 hours a week? Once you have a few years under your belt, you can settle into the maintenance part instead of turning around, and you don`t have to worry about layoffs.
